2025-2026 Student Injury and Sickness Insurance Plan

For many years, Mississippi State University has offered an optional health insurance plan for students and their dependents. MSU is currently partnered with Holland Insurance, Inc., to provide coverage through UnitedHealthcare Student Resources (UHCSR). While health insurance is not required for domestic students, it is strongly recommended to ensure access to comprehensive medical care.

Health Insurance Enrollment for Domestic Students

Domestic students who wish to purchase the university-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan must complete an enrollment form and submit it directly to Holland Insurance Group. This step is required so that Holland can verify your student status before forwarding to UHCSR to process your enrollment.

How to Enroll:

1. Download and complete the Student Health Insurance Enrollment Form.

2. Submit the completed form to Holland Insurance, Inc. using the contact information below.

3. Upon verification of your student status, Holland will forward your information to UHCSR. UHCSR will then email a payment link to you, allowing you to complete your insurance purchase.

Please note: Enrollment is not automatic. Your coverage will not begin until Holland verifies your student status and your payment is received by United Healthcare Student Resources

All international students are automatically subscribed to this policy unless they provide proof of comparable coverage. Students who would like to request a waiver may do so by following the steps provided at this link: https://studentcenter.uhcsr.com/msstate

The student insurance plan flyers are now available for the new policy year which begins on August 1, 2025. 

The MSU Student Plan is compliant with The Affordable Care Act. There is an enrollment window of one month after the start of each coverage period (fall, spring, summer). Exception: If you have a qualifying event (lose coverage, get married, have a child, etc.) you can enroll within 30 days of the event.

If you currently have coverage through UHCSR and would like to add a dependent, you have multiple options.  If you’d like to add your dependent(s) for a semester or for the full year, please do so by logging into your UHCSR account and following the enrollment instructions.  If you want to add dependents on a month-to-month basis, please complete one of the Dependent forms and submit it to benefits@hollandinsuranceinc.com.
