2023-2024 Student Injury and Sickness Insurance Plan
For many years, the Student Association of Mississippi State University has sponsored an optional health insurance plan for students and dependents. Beginning with the 2023 Fall semester, MSU has partnered with Holland Insurance Inc to offer student insurance plan through UnitedHealthcare Student Resources. For Domestic Students, health insurance is not required, but it is recommended.
All international students are automatically subscribed to this policy unless they provide proof of comparable coverage. Students who would like to request a waiver may do so by following the steps provided at this link: https://studentcenter.uhcsr.com/msstate
The student insurance plan brochure and flyers are now available for the new policy year which begins on August 1, 2023. The plan has been enhanced this year with some additional benefits. Please refer to the brochure for details.
The MSU Student Plan is compliant with The Affordable Care Act. There is an enrollment window of one month after the start of each coverage period (fall, spring, summer). Exception: If you have a qualifying event (lose coverage, get married, have a child, etc.) you can enroll within 30 days of the event.
If you have any questions that our staff can assist with, please reach out to Jackie Bibbs, 662-325-7637.
To see what services are excluded, please see pgs 3 - 4 of the brochures listed above.
If you currently have coverage through UHCSR and would like to add a dependent, you have multiple options. If you’d like to add your dependent(s) for a semester or for the full year, please do so by logging into your UHCSR account and following the enrollment instructions. If you want to add dependents on a month-to-month basis, please complete one of the Dependent forms and submit it to email@example.com.
